Camp Director Position, 2023

Nature’s Farm Camp is about fun, but it’s more than that. Our goal is to help kids develop into competent and confident problem solvers. The Camp Director encourages and motivates others to perform at their best and to support their growth
Required Qualifications
-A demonstrated ability to be able to support the wellbeing of children, adolescents and young adults.
-A demonstrated ability to assume responsibility and lead people
-Proficiency in organization
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-Spanish language expertise, preferred.
Job Description
1. Pre-Camp related work March - July, plus August.
*Camp registration: communicate with camp parents,
e.g. answer questions, receive forms, bill.
*Review existing camp program.
*Calls with Executive Director to answer questions & transition.
2. Employee Manager Pre-camp and during camp.
*Hire staff (returning and new hires)
*Support and manage the growth of camp staff
*Discuss and agree with individual staff on their development goals
*Supervise and support staff growth during camp to help achieve camp goals.
3. Managing camp / Managing risk July 14 - Aug 3
Be responsible for the daily operation and management of the summer resident camp.
*Coordinate daily schedules with key stakeholders, e.g. counselors and AOLC staff.
*Be responsible for camper and staff wellbeing
*Communicate as necessary with all stakeholders, e.g. campers, camp parents, staff and farm staff
*Constantly monitor risk and ensure safe practices
*Keep records, maintain information, and document processes and activities
Other Job Requirements
First Aid and CPR Certified, ServeSafe Certified, Mandated Reporter

Compensation
*Pre/Post-Camp Work: $25/hr, estimated at 1-4 hr/week, from Feb - Aug.
*Staff training: $375.
*Session rate: $900, i.e. $900 x 3 camp sessions.
*$350 travel stipend.
Camp Details:
Team Development: Zoom & emails ahead of in-person pre-camp July 14-15
Session 1: July 16-21
Session 2: July 24-28
Session 3: July 31-Aug 3
Camp begins Sunday at 2:00 PM and ends Thursday at 11:00 AM.
Camp happens at Angelic Organics Learning Center (AOLC) in Caledonia, IL (100 miles NW of Chicago). Nature’s Farm Camp rents the facilities, plus the AOLC cook. AOLC provides at least one of their staff to help with activities, e.g. animal chores, and creek exploration.
